Critical Writing teaches students how to analyze any kind of text in the humanities or social sciences, while Writing for the SAT or ACT teaches the winning formulas for the unique requirements of each of these exam essays. 

In Critical Writing we learn how to do research using credible sources on academic search engines.  We work intensively on thesis statements, introductions, paragraph development, selecting quotes, and interpreting citations.  The course works with model essays and paradigms for structuring an argument.  Students receive detailed comments to revise their papers through several drafts. The course requires a ten session commitment in order to see real progress.  Course price is for all ten sessions. 

Writing for the SAT or ACT.  An SAT or ACT with a low writing score affects your overall score and casts a shadow on your multiple choice scores.  This course makes sure that does not happen.  We teach structure, practice timing, and work off our own formula not published anywhere else.  The course requires a ten session commitment in order to see real progress.  Course price is for all ten sessions.
